Larrianna, a born and raised Washingtonian, served in the U.S. Air Force from 2019-2023 as a Russian Cryptologic Language Analyst at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland.

Larrianna studies Computer Science at the Paul G Allen School of Computer Science here at UW. She has two Pomeranians, likes to play Marvel Rivals and The Legend of Zelda, and spend time with her family.

Serenity was born and raised in the greater Seattle area and served in the U.S. Navy on Active Duty from 2019-2025. She currently serves in the Reserves as a Hospital Corpsman. Her combined passion for medicine and design led her to the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, which she plans to pursue through a master’s program after completing her senior year at UW.

Outside of school, Serenity trains and teaches Jiu Jitsu 5–6 days a week and stays active both in and out of the gym through a variety of outdoor activities. She is also an artist who enjoys creating and designing with a variety of mediums.

Spencer Sartain

Spencer had served as a Casket Bearer in Arlington National Cemetery for the US Navy Ceremonial Guard from 2014-2017, then continued to serve as a Hospital Corpsman until 2021.

Originally out of the Nashville area, he and his partner have settled in Seattle for the iconic scenery and the warm, sunny climate that the PNW has to offer.

He is attending UW to attempt to earn a dual degree in Environmental Science and Terrestrial Resource Management as well as Sustainable Bioresource Science Engineering. He hopes to one day address environmental concerns within the agricultural industry with phytoremediation and by helping to develop bioplastic alternatives with agricultural byproducts.

He enjoys long walks in the woods with his geriatric French bulldog and reminiscing on his cozy, late nights in a chic, Waffle House diner back east

Marco Saavedra

Marco is a Political Science and Human Resources student at the University of Washington, where he transferred to after earning his Associate of Arts degree through Running Start. Marco is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree on an accelerated timeline and expects to graduate from the University of Washington in March 2027.

Following graduation, Marco plans to serve in the United States Army under an Airborne Ranger Infantry contract. His goal of military service comes from a desire to challenge himself, serve something greater than himself, and pursue experiences that push him beyond his comfort zone—including his passion for airborne operations and skydiving.

Outside of academics and military aspirations, Marco is an avid student of world history, particularly major conflicts and the events that have shaped nations and societies. He also enjoys studying languages and has experience with Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Spanish. In his free time, Marco enjoys exploring new places, discovering great food, and skydiving. He is always looking for opportunities to learn, challenge himself, and experience something new.

Brian Rodrigues

Brian is a U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1989–1993 as an Electrician’s Mate. Following his military service, he worked for nearly two decades as a union electrician, including time as a licensed master electrician, before transitioning into higher education. He is currently a full-time student at the University of Washington pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare, with plans to continue on to earn his MSW.

Brian serves as a Veteran Peer Mentor with UW Student Veteran Life, where he supports student veterans through outreach, peer connection, and resource navigation. His interests center on veteran reintegration, student engagement, and building meaningful community within higher education.

In his free time, Brian enjoys journaling, long walks, strength training, thrifting, and thoughtful conversations. He values service, reflection, and staying connected to the veteran community.

Betty Roberts

Betty grew up in a military family, with her siblings, grandfather and dad serving in almost every branch. She’s been living in Washington for nearly ten years after moving from Texas, and hopes to return to the sunny state after graduation.

Betty is double majoring in Political Science and Communication at UW and hopes to attend law school in DC or Austin. Outside of being a Dean’s List student, you can generally find her being as sapphic as possible. She enjoys attending and watching football and women’s basketball, curling up with a book in her apartment and exploring more of Seattle.

Aiden lived the first half of their life in Connecticut before moving to Washington in 2017 due to their father’s naval career. Aiden has always been interested in the sciences, and since the COVID-19 pandemic, this interest has turned to the field of biochemistry, which they pursue at the University of Washington. Besides academics, Aiden likes to play Dungeons and Dragons, cooking steaks, and reading science fiction.

Isaac is from Kirkland, Washington and is a Navy Veteran, he served in the US Navy as a submarine Torpedoman from 2020-2024.

He currently coaches high school football and is double majoring in history and education studies with the end goal of earning his Master’s in Teaching from the University of Washington and becoming a high school history teacher.

Vega Parwata is a U.S. Navy veteran and former Naval Military Police officer who served in law enforcement and leadership roles, including mentoring junior sailors.

He is currently majoring in Social Work and works with Student Veteran Life, where he supports fellow student veterans through peer support and resource navigation.

Outside of school and work, Vega enjoys staying active, swimming, traveling, and exploring new places.

Dale , born in Oklahoma and raised in Arizona, served in the U.S. Air Force from 2015-2024 as a Cyber Systems Operations Specialist at Travis AFB, CA, Izmir AB, Turkey, and Kadena AB, Japan. After his enlistment ended, he enrolled at the University of Washington to study Marine Biology.

Outside of school, Dale enjoys scuba diving, tabletop role-playing games, kendo, and relaxing with his cats.
